Terms of Service

Last reviewed: August 2026 · Launch — these terms will be expanded as additional plans go live. Please read them in full before using the service.

These terms are an agreement between you ("you", "the customer") and Andrew Lyeklint Hancock, trading as Vome / VomeHome ("we", "us") — a Swedish sole trader (enskild firma) based in Skåne, Sweden. An aktiebolag (Vome AB) is planned; until then this sole firm is the contracting party. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

1. The service

VomeHome provides hosted Home Assistant Operating System (HAOS) virtual machines on shared physical hardware, plus a HomeLink VPN between each instance and your home network. Each instance runs in its own isolated VM; hardware is shared in the same way as any reputable hosting provider.

2. Plans & billing

Hosted plans (Standard, Pro, Developer) include a managed Home Assistant instance; Connect covers remote access, off-site backups and monitoring for a Home Assistant you run yourself, and includes no hosted instance. New accounts start on a free trial that can be extended with an invite code.

Plans are billed monthly or annually in advance. Sticker prices are in SEK including VAT; Stripe Checkout presents and charges your local currency where Adaptive Pricing supports it. Annual plans are charged for ten months and run for twelve, with the two free months at the end of the year (they are not a front-loaded trial). Changing plan takes effect immediately and the difference is charged or credited pro-rata for the remainder of the period.

Early-adopter / founding annual. While that limited offer is open (shown on /founding and at checkout), an annual purchase may include additional free months after the paid year. Those months are still prepaid service — not a donation, not crowdfunding equity, and not ownership in the company. The subscription is set not to auto-renew into a second charge; after the paid year ends, access continues for the stated thank-you months and then ends unless you choose a new plan. The total length is counted from your payment date (roughly seventeen months with the default thank-you length), which for purchases during 2026 typically reaches into calendar 2028 — it is not a promise that every purchase, at every date, covers the whole of 2028.

Score card. A one-off payment (shown on /score) publishes a public snapshot of a health check: the 0–100 score, a short name, and three category badges. It is prepaid digital content, not a hosted plan. Findings and device names stay on your private report. Before payment you must expressly request immediate delivery and acknowledge that ångerrätt ends when the card (or a purchased gift link) is delivered. If you do not give that consent, we do not take the payment.

2a. Cancellation & refunds

You can cancel at any time from the Subscription page. As a consumer you have a statutory right to withdraw (ångerrätt) within 14 days of a payment under EU/Swedish distance-selling rules; if you do, we refund what you paid less a pro-rata amount for the period already supplied, and access ends immediately. That right applies to monthly, annual and early-adopter annual purchases alike.

After the 14-day window, a monthly plan is not refunded — it simply continues until the end of the period you have already paid for and does not renew. An annual plan (including an early-adopter annual) cancelled after that window is refunded for the unused remainder, with the months already used charged at the standard monthly rate; the annual discount and any thank-you months only apply when the paid year is completed as agreed — unused thank-you months are not paid out as cash if you leave early.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to use the service to:

  • Break the law in any relevant jurisdiction.
  • Attack, probe, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to other tenants, the host infrastructure, or third-party systems.
  • Run anything materially unrelated to home automation (e.g. cryptocurrency mining, large-scale scraping, bulk email).
  • Resell access to your VomeHome instance to third parties.
  • Distribute malware or content that infringes others' rights.

We may suspend or terminate access immediately if you breach these rules and may notify the relevant authorities where appropriate.

4. Your content

The content inside your HAOS VM (configuration, automations, history, add-ons, recordings, device data) belongs to you. You're responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and process it. We do not access it for our own purposes; see the Privacy Policy for details.

5. Trials, invite codes & suspension

  • Trial days are advisory, not a contractual entitlement to a specific level of service.
  • When a trial expires, your instance is suspended (VM stopped, disk retained) for the configured grace period (currently 14 days), then purged.
  • Invite codes are non-transferable, may be single- or multi-use, and can be revoked at our discretion if abused.
  • Once paid plans go live, failure to pay for a renewal period will also result in suspension and eventual purge under the same grace period.

6. Availability & backups

We aim for high availability but make no specific uptime guarantee at launch. You are responsible for taking and verifying your own backups; we provide tooling to do so but do not guarantee disaster-recovery for individual instances.

7. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of (a) the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose, or (b) 500 kr. We are not liable for any indirect, consequential, or special losses, including loss of data, profits, or business interruption.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Swedish law (including mandatory consumer-protection rules, and liability for intent or gross negligence).

8. Termination

You can close your account at any time from the dashboard or by emailing support@vome.io. We can terminate or suspend service for breach of these terms or for prolonged non-use (after notice). Personal data is then handled per the Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the service evolves; significant changes will be highlighted on the dashboard before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date counts as acceptance.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Sweden. Disputes shall be resolved by Swedish courts. If you are a consumer habitually resident in another EU/EEA country, mandatory consumer-protection rules of your country of residence — including the right of withdrawal and the right to bring proceedings in your home courts — still apply and cannot be waived by these terms.
